Degree Overview

The Master of Education degree is designed to provide professional growth opportunities for Christian educators in the field of Christian or public school educational leadership. Candidates are prepared to assume leadership roles in Christian day, public, missionary, international, or national cross-cultural schools.

Objectives
  • The student will apply Biblical principles to formulate a Christian philosophy of education and articulate this to various audiences. 
  • The student will demonstrate the ability to employ various research procedures and technology for problem solving within the school setting. 
  • The student will demonstrate a commitment to the professional role of the Christian educator that includes being a lifelong learner by reflecting and gaining from experiences and being aware of current issues in education. 
  • demonstrate the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with other professionals, community members, and parents to improve student learning. 
  • The student will analyze supervision principles and practices. 
  • The student will analyze and evaluate the contributions of various school leadership members to the effectiveness of the institution. 
  • The student will understand professionally and apply Biblically the concepts of strategic planning, budgeting, promotion, and fundraising to advance the Christian School or Bible College for the glory of God.
  • The student will reflect upon and analyze law as it relates to Christian education.

Overview

  • The curriculum for this concentration provides opportunities to develop knowledge, skills, and dispositions in the broad scope of school administrative responsibilities. These responsibilities include leadership theory, school law, financial principles, faculty and staff supervision, data-informed decision making, strategic planning, and development.
